The package tells you the band you're in; the written quote after our first conversation tells you the exact figure, and that figure doesn't move unless you add scope.
Standard projects are 50% to begin and 50% on approval before launch. Platform projects are split across milestones tied to delivered phases, so you're never paying significantly ahead of completed work.
New requirements get quoted separately and you approve them before I build them. Nothing gets added to your invoice that you haven't agreed to in writing first.
For larger builds, yes — milestone splits are the norm. For smaller packages the two-part split is usually enough, but if timing is genuinely difficult, ask. I'd rather structure something workable than lose a good project over cash flow.
